When I started drinking alcohol I never thought my new and exciting habit would become the source of so much distress and inner discontent. I would try hard to quit but always saw myself downing yet another beer in a state of dumb drunkenness. But owing to my determination and battle scars I was able to control my drinking habits.
Friends are peers for life depending on how long you keep them. But if you have friends that you think are spoiling your ability to control alcohol consumption then I think you must part ways with them for quite some time. Finding an alternative source of entertainment for relaxation times is a good way of fighting an alcohol addiction. I remember upgrading my computer and making sure I could play FIFA or WWE Smack down and i even invested in a left handed electric guitar. I realized that life is smoother and much quieter if it is experienced without too much alcohol involved.
Some of the people out there use alcohol as a way to escape from a certain reality. For the most part there will be a void of emptiness that is filled with alcohol or even a depressing thought that is dissolved by alcohol. Being open with yourself and knowing what you are missing from life will greatly help you to overcome your addiction. Sort your life out like you're organizing jeans in home storage shelves and you will see how you won't have to drink so much.
Alcoholics are usually slim and underfed. But there are others that are well fed, but this is rare. The point I'm trying to stress here is that of eating more food and taking care of ones body. I realized how I cut down on my intake of alcohol when I noticed how much I was missing out on by drinking instead of eating more. This is good replacement therapy but it must be done in moderation.
Anyone with an addiction problem can get over it if they focus for long enough to see themselves changing. Just never give up and lose sight of your goal whatever you do. Be sure to suck the power out of your addiction like a Dyson upright vacuum cleaner would suck out dirt form carpet.
